Tea Party Bridal Shower at Roseland Plantation in Ben Wheeler, TX
When it comes to celebrating a bride-to-be, there’s nothing quite like a tea party bridal shower. My niece is getting married and this was the perfect excuse to celebrate her upcoming nuptials with a fancy and fun afternoon tea party at Roseland Plantation in Ben Wheeler, TX.
I’m sharing the details as well as the moments that made this day absolutely stunning and memorable.
A Perfect Setting for a Bridal Shower
Nestled in the heart of East Texas, Roseland Plantation provided the perfect backdrop for a day filled with love, laughter, and a delightful afternoon tea party bridal shower. This Greek-Revival mansion built in 1854 sits on 50 acres of lush East Texas woods.
It is a historical landmark mansion where Tim & Carolyn West (the bride’s grandparents) live full time. It is the epitome of elegance and charm. It is located at 2591 Texas Highway 64 in Ben Wheeler, Texas 75754.
Arrival at Roseland Plantation
As we arrived at Roseland Plantation, we were immediately struck by its historic beauty and serene atmosphere.
The sprawling grounds, adorned with blooming flowers and stately trees, set the scene for a memorable day.
The charming antebellum mansion exuded Southern charm, making it the ideal venue for our tea party bridal shower.
Tea Party Preparations
Setting the Scene
We transformed the garden into a whimsical tea party wonderland. The table was set with vintage tea sets, floral centerpieces, and elegant place settings.
Each place setting featured the guests placecard, a vintage tea cup and saucer as well as a fun and unique silver teapot napkin ring.
Floral Arrangements
The floral arrangements were a highlight of the decor. With a mix of white roses, blue hydrangeas, and foxgloves, arranged in vintage silver vases.
The soft, romantic hues perfectly complemented the place settings and added a touch of sophistication to the event.
The Tea Party
First Course
No tea party is complete without exquisite teas. We were offered a choice of English tea or Raspberry Tea (both were amazing!). Guests were served from elegant teapots, each steeped to perfection. Cream and brown sugar cubes were provided in quaint silver pieces.
A collection of fresh fruits topped with rich cream was served as a first course. It was the perfect way to start with the tea.
Second Course
This was probably my favorite one. A freshly baked currant scone was served with the most divine clotted cream and homemade blackberry jam.
When I tell you it was delicious, I feel like I’m not telling the whole truth because it was actually to die for! More tea was served hot to compliment the scones.
Third Course
The luncheon menu continued with an array of delectable and delicate finger sandwiches. Cucumber (my favorite), smoked chicken salad, and egg salad were served from gorgeously decorated tiered trays.
The plates were passed starting at both ends of the table and then passed again and again as everyone enjoyed the food.
Fourth Course
The final selection of bites were a true sight to see. On display were beautiful petit fours, thumbprint cookies, and chocolate truffles, all beautifully arranged on tiered stands. Each bite was a delightful experience, adding a sweet touch to the sweetness of the day.
Celebrating the Bride-to-Be
Heartfelt Conversation
One of the most touching moments of the day were the memories shared around the luncheon table. Friends and family shared their best wishes, fond memories, and words of wisdom with the bride-to-be. It truly added a personal and emotional touch to the celebration, making it even more special.
Photo Opportunities
With the picturesque Roseland Plantation as our backdrop, we made sure to capture plenty of memories. We took images from the stairway and the front porch steps with vintage vibe providing the perfect spot for guests to snap pictures. The bride-to-be also scheduled a dedicated photo session for later in the day.
Keepsake Kisses
Guests were invited to take a sweet teapot box filled with Hershey’s kisses as a beautiful memento of the tea party bridal shower. The hostesses left nothing out for this occasion.
A Perfect Ending
As the day drew to a close, we toured the rest of the plantation. This included the Cherokee Rose cabin, a one-room guest house that is remeniscent of the 1800s.
We also toured the shop on the property which holds the famous painting of the Lord’s Last supper. It is stunning and can take your breath away.
The building is also home to a variety antiques and furniture that is available for purchase.
I couldn’t resist these vintage Christmas ornaments!
