Things to Do in Springtown, TX: A Short and Sweet Day Trip
A couple of weeks ago Brett and I decided to take a spontaneous day trip to Springtown, TX, a charming small town just about an hour from our home. But we were also on a mission.
The plan was simple: pick up an item we bought off Facebook Marketplace for a Halloween DIY project. But as it often happens, our quick trip turned into a delightful adventure filled with good eats, fun shopping, and a touch of history. Here’s how our day unfolded.

Springtown, TX Facebook Marketplace Find
Our main reason for heading to Springtown was to pick up a special item for a super fun Halloween DIY project. We found the perfect piece on Facebook Marketplace—a Frozen Castle dollhouse that we plan to transform into a spooky haunted house. Be sure to hop over to my DIY blog to check it out.
The drive to Springtown was easy and scenic, and before we knew it, we were pulling up to the seller’s house to grab our find.
Ice Cream Stop at Pojo Coffee Shoppe
After securing our Marketplace treasure, we decided to reward ourselves with a little treat. Brett had heard about Pojo Coffee Shoppe, a local favorite known for its famous ice cream, so we made it our next stop. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint!
The ice cream was rich, creamy, and served between two of the most delicious homemade cookies called a “sweedee” ~ exactly what we needed on a warm Texas day.
There were so many flavors to choose from that it was super hard to decide.
We ended up sharing a triple scoop vanilla ice cream between two rich butter cookies with sprinkles! Yes Please!
We sat and visited with the creators of this amazingess while enjoying our ice cream sandwiches, latte and soaking in the small-town vibes.
Shopping at That’s So Fetch Boutique
No day trip is complete without a little retail therapy, right? Springtown, TX has a hidden gem in That’s So Fetch Boutique, and we couldn’t resist popping in for a browse.
This trendy little shop is packed with fun and fashionable finds, from stylish clothes to Tyler candles, jewelry, and unique gift items.
Did you catch those Buc-ee’s earrings? I shared all about Buc-ee’s my favorite road trip stop with you in another post ~ so much fun! I walked out with a few candles (you can never have too many!), while Brett patiently waited and pretended not to notice how much fun I was having.
A Peek into History: The Dr. George and Ruth Jones House
As we were driving through town, an old, historic home caught my eye. Anyone who knows me knows I’m a sucker for old homes, so we just had to stop and take a closer look.
The Dr. George and Ruth Jones House, located off the square, is a beautifully preserved piece of history. While we didn’t go inside, just seeing the exterior and imagining the stories those walls could tell made my heart happy.
There’s something so special about these old homes, and this one was a real treat to stumble upon.
Lunch at Woody Creek BarBQ
After a bit of exploring, we were ready for some serious Texas BBQ.
Woody Creek BarBQ came highly recommended, and it was every bit as good as we’d hoped.
We ordered BBQ sandwiches piled high with smoked meat and all the fixins’. The flavors were smoky, savory, and everything you want in a BBQ sandwich.
We found a cozy spot to sit and dig in, savoring every bite. It was the perfect way to round out our short but sweet day trip.

Our day trip to Springtown may have started with a simple goal—picking up a Marketplace find—but it quickly turned into a memorable little adventure.
